Fieldwork survey aim to characterizing demand on public transport in Valladolid and updating the In home Mobility Survey

Mode: Screen interviews (private vehicle), in household mobility interviews and Public Transport interviews.

Client: Valladolid Town Council

Goals:

This is a field investigation with the main purpose of obtaining information on mobility in the city of Valladolid to be used  in the development of the Urban, Sustainable and Safe Mobility Plan of the city of Valladolid (PIMUSSVA ).

Job description:

The work developed by ABACO consists of:

  1. Screen to the Private Vehicle Surveys and counting
    The purpose of the screen interviews and the counting of private vehicles is to characterize the mobility generated in the city of Valladolid, as well as mobility through the long-distance road network that crosses the area. The selected points are the main entrances to the city of Valladolid (19 points). In them, screen surveys and vehicle counting’s were conducted simultaneously in order to establish the universe surveyed. The number of valid interviews obtained is 7,204.
  2. Household Surveys
    The purpose of the Mobility Survey is to characterize and describe mobility in all modes of transport for residents of the City of Valladolid during a working day and therefore targeted to the resident population in that area. The number of valid questionnaires obtained is 1,063.
  3. Surveys in Urban and Interurban Public Transport
    The purpose of the Public Transport Survey is to determine and characterize the demand of each line of the Valladolid Urban Transport day network and the Interurban Transport between Valladolid and Arroyo de la Encomienda and Laguna de Duero in a working day from one sample data collection and an elevation of its results to the passenger capacity made simultaneously with the survey.
    The scope of the investigation was the totality of the lines of the daytime network integrated in the Urban Transport of Valladolid formed of 20 lines plus the Red and Blue lines that communicate with Arroyo de la Encomienda and the Laguna de Duero line. The investigation period was between 7:00 and 22:00 hours of a working day.A sample of 7,488 surveys is obtained for the total of the lines.
