Demand characterization survey in a regular working day of urban buses in Madrid Metropolitan Area (B and C rings)

Goals:
This work is part of the surveys carried out periodically by the Consorcio de Transportes de Madrid to collect data on the operation of the public transport network in Madrid and analyze the demand, in order to plan and program the delivery of the services with the greatest guarantees of a correct adaptation of supply to demand
The main objective is to characterize the demand in a working day of each line of the daytime network of urban buses of the crowns B and C of the Community of Madrid. For this, a field research is carried out as well as its subsequent exploitation The purpose of this study is to know:
- Demand of passengers by stop (up and down), time period and transport title in each line.
- Mobility characteristics of such demand, travel reason, modal chain and magnitude of the spatial relationships within the line, namely oscillograms of load and matrices stop of rise / stop of descent.
- The characteristics of the supply actually produced and its deviation from the theoretical one, for the sample analyzed
- Obtain information on the demand coming from crossing the explanatory variables, as well as relating it to the characteristics of the supply and the levels of occupation
Job description:
The work developed by ABACO consists of conducting a counting capacity of the passengers up and down by stop of each one of the 111 urban lines of a total of 36 municipalities of rings B and C, as well as through a self-completion questionnaire with a sample of about 35,000 users. The scope of the investigation is the totality of the urban bus lines of Madrid Area, that covers municipalities of rings B and C and the period of research is between 6:00 and 22:00 a regular working day.
