Goals:

This work is part of the surveys carried out periodically by the Madrid Transport Consortium to collect data on the operation of the public transport network in Madrid and analyze the demand in order to plan and program the delivery of the Services with the greatest guarantees of a correct adaptation of supply to demand.

It is a field investigation and its subsequent exploitation with the main purpose of characterizing the users of the main interchanges and intermodal areas of Madrid township, to know the detail of the different stages, modes of access and dispersion and origin / destination of their journey, as well as the characterization of the profile of the traveler in terms of age, travel reason, transport title, etc..

Job description:

The work developed by ABACO consists in conducting a counting capacity of travelers in and off the different interurban lines heading off or passing by interchanges and exchange areas of  Madrid, as well as a mobility survey to travelers who access such buses.

The scope of the investigation is limited to users of interurban lines in the interchanges and areas of exchange of Madrid. The survey was conducted from 6:00 to 22:00.

There are 31,838 valid interviews, covering 19,7% of the current travelers. Interviews collect information on the basic characteristics of the traveler, the modes of access and dispersion, the reasons for traveling and the title of transport used, as well as the origin and destination of the trip, district in the case of Madrid and municipality when are crowns B and C.
