Capacity count of users in Metro Ligero de Madrid

The basic objective of the study is the control of occupancy of travelers on working days in this line, to obtain the matrix of passenger intensities for all circulations.

The capacity count is done during the entire service period, ie from 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. and the results are used to determine the total number of passengers, both in and out, occupation and time of each stop. This allows the offer to be adjusted to the demand, thus increasing the offer where saturation is detected, or reducing the mobile material if the network presents a low occupancy.

An average of 50 persons have worked in this project, including interviewers, Field Coordinators and Field Managers.

The ML-1 Light Rail line belongs to the Madrid Metro Ligero network and has a length of 5.4 km. This line has 9 stations, with correspondence with Metro in Pinar de Chamartín and Las Tablas and with Renfe – Cercanías in Fuente de la Mora.
